Penny Black Fly Away

Hello! another boy card (I know its shocked me too- I never do boy cards!!) This time I have used an old favourite of mine- Penny Black's "Fly Away". He is super cute with his little puppy and aeroplane :0)  The paper is perfect for this image to- its from a bo bunny paper stack called On the Go.  I have raided my stash for the metal charm, brads and star eyelet to fit in with the challenge over at Penny Black's Saturday challenge calling for us to use metal.  I have used some of my cross stitching yarn as I REALLY need to buy some of that fabulous Divine Twine I have seen around, but need to source it from somewhere :0( I dont like that we are behind with some things in Australia (although it is MUCH better than it was just five years ago!!!) If anyone can let me know where I can get it here in Oz that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I'd appreciate it :0)

Lili of the Valley Blowing Bubbles sketch by Dawny

Hi there! thanks for stopping by.  What a lovely day in Brisbane...the rain has finally stopped and it was about 25 degrees out...so the kids have had a fantastic morning at Redcliffe Lagoon playing at the park, then this afternoon, I have done a little card making :0) life is grand isn't it??
On to my card today.  Today I have followed a sketch by Dawny P over at Papertake weekly... only I have flipped it onto its side :0).  I have coloured my favourite LOTV image: Blowing Bubbles- it is so cute!! I have edged the cardstock with my new Martha Stewart scallop edger.  I have used papers from my We R Memory Keepers Love stack.  Ribbon and slider are from my stash.  Flowers are WOC.  The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp. Hope you like it :0)

Krista Smith's Springtime

Good evening.  Another saturated Canary card tonight :0) This time its the lovely "springtime". Coloured with copics, and added a splash of stickles and dimensional magic.  I have edged the bottom cardstock with a martha stewart die "double loops".  The flowery DP is from a We R Memory Keepers stack called Love Struck. The flowers and leaves are of course from wild orchid crafts. A nice short and sweet one tonight, no challenges :0)

A little tutorial on doing the looped surround:
I had to play around a little to get the measurements right..so to save you the effort, if you're interested in doing this edging, I cut the green cardstock square at 14.9cm before using the edger.  This will give you an edged square that measures 14.6cm in total and allows all the loops to align.  The centre I did a little smaller and cut a square cardstock at 13.8cm to align the loops.

Saturated Canary Sporty Guy

hello again! I have followed another sketch for this card, this time I have chosen sketch 86 over at Sketch and Stash.  This is another card I did yesterday from my spree at Saturated Canary. This boy's called sporty guy and he is so cute...now you know boys cards are not my thing, but when I saw him, I knew I had to have him!! He's a dream to colour up- in fact I used only one blue copic and one red copic with a dash of grey for his uniform! (told ya my collection is not big!)  The papers are from a couple of stacks I've had for YEARS so dont know what barnd they are.  I have used some blue moonstone brads from WOC.  I need to get some twine from WOC too 'cause I think some twine on this card would've been perfect.

I would like to enter in the following challenges:
Sparkles: Summer Fun (2nd entry)
Simon Says Stamp: sporty/patriotic
Sweet n Sassy: Stars and Stripes
Saturated Canary: red white and blue

Krista Smith / saturated canary Zorana the Gypsy Dancer

Hello! Thanks for stopping by today. For my card today, I have followed Arlana's sketch over at Sweet sketch Wednesday and have used an image from my shopping spree the other day at Saturated Canary.   She has a new store front, so click on the link it will take you there :0)  This lovely lady is Zorana the Gypsy Dancer.  For those who visit me often know that in previous years I have been an avid prismacolour colourer...but have recently been trying copics, so am still queit a novice.  So to get the gist of copic colouring, I have made the images a bit larger than usual, so unfortunately for the card, there is not much room left for embellishment.  But I can still manage to cram as much as I can in there. Including flowers from Kasiercraft and wild orchid crafts (and the pearl brad from WOC).  Everything else here is from my stash.  The DP is off cuts from my ever growing off cuts box (thats now growing into my drawers LOL!).  The butterfly paper is a Graphic 45 design called Heaven Sent, and the branches paper is a We are Memory Keepers design called Sugar and Spice.  When I cut my paper, I always cut the top end  first (that is the other end from the brand  strip) that way my scraps always have the design and name on it.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations Challenge: 3 embellishments (flowers, pearls, ribbon)
Stampavie and More: lots of flowers
Sparkles challenges: Summer fun
Fairytale Challenges: soft tone colours
One Stitch at a Time: summer dresses

saturated canary / Krista Smith .... Pricilla Pie

Hello!! Thanks for dropping by! Well today I had a wee little shopping spree at Saturated Canary and bought a couple of digi stamps (ok, so I got 7 but hubby needn't know).  This is the first one I have coloured up.  Isn't she a darlin'??  Her name is Pricilla Pie and you can get her and all of Krista Smith's images here.  I have coloured her with copics...I'm slowly getting the hang of these...sometimes I dont want to post my cards, but then I look back at my first card and scrapping page and think of how far I have come, so I will keep posting for now for the memories :0) I got the rhinestone slider and the little tiny pearls from my LSS Arnolds- they are so delicate and perfect for embellishing around the image.  The papers are from my Prima pad "Sun Kiss".  I have used Cheery Lynn's heart doily die, and moonstone brads from Wild Orchid Crafts.  the flowers are mulberry paper I've had for a while, and the centre is a button which I cut off the knob at the back... I coloured the pearl yellow to suit the theme.  The inside verse is from a Sweet n Sassy set called "a true friend".

I would like to enter in the following challenges:
Delightful challenges: Anything goes
Sweet n Sassy Digi Challenge: Bling it on (Moonstone brads)

sarah kay Lucy and Kitty

Hello! thanks for passing by my blog!  Tonight I have tried something completely different and out of the box for me.  I am really disappointed in the quality of the pictures, but my camera is not an expensive one, and well, I'm certainly no photographer LOL!

Anyway...  the paper is from my prima pad called "Fairy Belle".  directly on to that paper, I stamped the tree background.... called "Orchid Park" from Alota stamps.  I got mine years ago from Quixotic Paperie but have noticed they are currently out of stock, so keep an eye out for them when they are back in stock :0).  I stamped the little girl image onto X-Press it paper and cut closely around the image.  The cute little image is from Sarah Kay called "Lucy and Kitty".... isn't she divine!  I paper pieced her top, bow and knee pads- something that I have not done before, and am quiet happy with the result. then I stuck that over the orchid park. ... So no matting! I know- withdrawals right haha!!  I have used some moonstone brads and a rose from wild orchid crafts and the little butterflies are clear glitter sickers stuck to pink paper and cut around.... In real person it does look much nicer :0)

look at the cute little rabbit and squirrel peeking from the trees

I tried to get a close up of the beautiful prima paper with the lotus's and the little butterfly at the bottom

the inside all decorated too :0)

I would like to enter this into the Stampavie and More challenge: something with Wings

magnolia tilda with lace hearts sketch by Sam

Hi there! thanks for stopping by.  Well it is a wet miserable cold day here in (sunny) Queensland so what a perfect day to stay inside and make a card!! (although I dont really need weather as an excuse haha!!)  I have followed a sketch by Sam over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  I have used the lovely magnolia stamp "Tilda with lace Hearts" and coloured her with copics... you can get magnolia stamps and products here.  The sentiment and flower frame stamp are from sets of clear inkadinkado stamps. The lovely brads and rose are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The pearl brads were originally white and I coloured them with copics to match my colour theme...I love that I can do this with copics.  The darling little dragonfly is cut using Cheery Lynn's dimensional dragonfly die...you can get them  here plus tons of other awesome stuff!  The beautiful paper is from a Prima pad called Fairy Belle (designed by Jodie Lee) I got this, the tiny pearls (which I have coloured as well) the organza ribbon and the yellow daisy (folded in half) from my LSS Arnolds.  I have, of course, splashed some stickles around LOL!

Japanese Tilda with Bo Bunny Serenity paper

Hi there! thanks for stopping by.  This is Japanese Magnolia.  I'm not happy with her skin, but after my first couple of efforts colouring with red copics, I am happy with the red gown.  The paper is from a Bo Bunny stack called "Serenity collection".  I really like these papers, quiet an oriental feel.  I have done some swirls with liquid pearls, which you can see in the bottom picture.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which I have sprayed some of the white roses with orange glimmer mist and touched the edges of the petals with a red copic.

A short and sweet post this time, It's getting late so am off to bed :0)

Magnolia Romantic Tilda- Sketch by Francesca

Hello! Thanks for stopping by.  I haven't inked my magnolia stamps up for such a long time, and thought "Romantic Tilda"fitted the theme of a warm sunny day well.  Not usually colours that I would work with, but over at Simon Says stamp, they have a photo inspiration by Joy as their challenge. Most of Joy's photos are yellow and my instant thought is summer, and one particular photo has some beautiful sunfowers, which suited my paper from a Prima Pad called "Sun Kiss".  The sketch I have used is a challenge over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.  The sentiment is one of my favs by Imaginations. It is cut wwith a spellbinders lacey circle. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Some stickles, dimension magic, glamor dust and adhesive dewdrops finished it off.

Elisabeth Bell "Planting Some Love"

Hi there! thanks for stopping by!  Today I pulled out my memento and stamped an image for a change LOL (instead of digi prints!)  This beautiful little one is by Elisabeth Bell called "Planting some Love"  OMG she is so cute!I am persisting with my copics and adding more to my collection each fornightly pay....so much so that here in Oz there is a promotion to get a free copic pen storage bag if you collect 30 tokens (one token per marker) and I have just sent away for mine! cant wait to get it.  And to make copics even better, they are on facebook!

So, onto my card.  I went shooping at my LSS Arnolds today and picked up a divine paper pad by Prima called "Fairy Belle"designed by Jodie Lee.  It is gorgeous! The butterfly and hat pin are OOAK made by my- how to make them are under my tutorials tab if interested.  The large pink flower is a Kaisercraft, the small cherry blossom flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Some ribbon, pearls and stickles finish off the card.

Hi there. I get inspired by many people, but the one site I can NOT not visit each day is a blog called "All the things I love".  Bev Rochester is the lovely lady behind the blog and she is giving away some awesome candy. In fact, she is always giving away one thing or another.  Pop over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful work.  She is very accomplished at her card making, published EVERYWHERE and her work is nothing short of divine.  Please pop by and have a look at her work XOX Tania

a scrapbook page for a change for things with wings challenge at Southern Girls Challenge

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by.  A long time ago in another world, I used to do scrapbooking before I found card making :0) Over at Southern Girls Challenge, their challenge is to create something with wings. I thought I would share some pages I did when my princess was one year old. (seems an eternity ago!!)  These are my favourite pages, and the photos do not do them justice at all.  The fairy dust from the butterflies is pearlescent chalk with white signo pen for the stardust. the butterflies are stickers and there is some rhinestones there for extra bling.

These photos are from a "shoot" I did at home (haha makes me sound like I'm a photgrapher- very far from the truth let me tell you!!).  I made the wings from some wire, a pair of stockings and then I glued feathers to the stocking.  Took me forever! I lent them to a friend, who lent them to her friend and I never saw the wings again :0( and then I stuck the wings to her back with sticky tape so you didn't see any elastic!  the little flower headband I made by hot gluing flowers to a piece of organza ribbon and tying it at the back.... I tell you Hannah would let me do anything to her at that age (now is a completely different story!)  She also had (and still does) a habit that if she was tired she would fall asleep- take herself to bed, of just sleep where she lay!.... so this page shows her wide awake and then sound asleep! And no, she doesn't have narcolepsy LOL!!!! I love this page more for the photos than the layout.
so pop on over to the Southern Girl Challenge, share your projects with wings on them and be in the draw to win some awesome prizes!

stay safe, especially in Oz where school holidays are going to start soon, dont drink and drive or speed, life's too short!

Another Krista Smith Bubbles + tutorial to make and color acetate butterflies

Hi again! thanks for dropping by.  I have a tendancy when printing digi images to size them and copy two prints to one A5 page so I then have two images to colour.  Moral to the story- my poor visitors have to put up with two of the same image on my posts :0)  I do try and colour them differently though if that makes a difference LOL!!! This is the lovely Krista Smith's "bubbles" you can get from her store here. The gorgeous DP is from We R Memory Keepers called "Cindy"- good day sunshine collection. The pics dont do the paper justice- it has lovely swirls and glitter over it- it is just divine.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon is from my stash.  The acetate butterfly is hand made....please scroll down if you are interested in how I colour my acetate butterflies. the image is cut using a spellbinder nestie.  Hope this offers a different look on my previous "bubbles" card.  Stay safe XOX Tania.

Aren't these butterflies cute??? I do them by hand from plain clear acetate....you can too! Here's how:

Supplies: clear acetate,  Staz on Ink, butterfly stamp (my butterflies are from a 2001 stampin up! set called wonderful wings), dimensional magic - avail in my shop here (must be dimensional magic as products such as diamond glaze etc are too thick and will crack when dry) glitter (I use glamour dust- it doesnt have the green highlights you get with crystal glitters) copics or permanent markers such as Bic or sharpies to use to colour your butterflies.

stamp your butterfly onto your acetate using Staz On ink (I use the colour Jet Black)

In a little pot/bowl, mix some glitter into your dimension magic and paint a thin layer over your stamped image (the staz on side)

Let dry...you can re paint another layer if you want it ultra sparkly. Let Dry.

You need to paint the glitter mix completely over the stamped image or your staz on ink will bleed into your pens.

colour your desired colours over the dry glitter.  cut around your butterfly,  turn over and viola! one sparkly butterfly

Note: you will only be working on one side of the acetate so the other side stays smooth and shiny.

I fold the wings up in the centre to add the feeling of them flying away

Krista Smith Saturated Canary "Bubbles"- sketch by Dawny P

Hi there AGAIN!! WOW I have been on fire today...I have done so much coloring and cards :0) I am just soooo in love with Krista Smith's images (if you cant tell!!) saw this little lady on her site and just had to have her.  Her name is bubbles and she is adorable! I have used a sketch by Dawny P over at Paper Take weekly.  I have used aqua and pink bazzil, We R Memory keepers DP called Sugar and spice and I have also used a pink polka dot paper from my scrap box.  The sentiment is from a sheet of Stamp It sentiments "siset031". The flowers and pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

"Baby Cakes" Photo gift box Saturated Canary Krista Smith

Good afternoon.  I have done another of my little box cards, only this time, I cut the top off two of the base frames so a photo could be slipped into it.  I glued acetate between the second and third frame to protect the photo.  I have don a tutorial for this box card, you can find it here

So onto my baby gift box. The gorgeous Krista Smith AKA Saturated Canary has opened her new site where I got this digi from. You can purchase all of her lovely images from here. She is called Baby Cakes and is just adorable.  What a shame my coloring can not do her justice :0( I will get more copics, but when you have two each in the same color, the blending is limited.  BUT, I will persevere.

I have used ribbon and lace from my stash, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts who, by the way, are having a 10% off Jubilee sale this week so stock up!  I have splashed some stickles and dimension magic around, and added some rhinestone bling.  The papers are from a Kaiser Craft pad, and the sentiment is from an C C Designs- Amy R set called "Baby Sentiments".  I got the set from Simon Says Stamp. The pearls and charm from stash.

I would like to enter my project in:
Wild Orchid challenge: Bingo- lilac, glitter, pearls/bling
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes
