assorted cards

Good morning, thanks for stopping by.  I hope everyone has had a wonderful break and for us here in Australia, the kids are back at school today YAY!!!! Hence why I have the time to show yo what I have been up to.  Well last year was HUGE for myself and my family.  I slowly started to get back into work after massive abdomen surgery, my husband started at uni for the beginning of his new career choice, and my kids settled into their new school.  On top of that I had my new little business which is growing every day and thanks to my wonderful loyal customers is becoming quiet the success :-)

so enough about the boring... I wanted to share with you a couple of my recent cards.  I know I don't get on here all the time, but as with everyone, time just goes by so fast.

these first couple of cards are new baby cards using DP from Maja Designs.  these ones in particular are vintage baby ephemera cards available in store here. flowers are of course Wild orchid crafts and I have also used some fabric daisies which I am hoping to add to the shop today :-)  the little pram die is a memory box die.  Acetate butterfly is one of my own makes and the die cut flying butterfly on the third card is from a Tattered lace die set also available here

The next card is made using a card topper in the image from Mo Manning.

The next bunch of cards are simple cards with verses on the front.  I tend to mask verses and add others to them so they say what I want (e.g. the last card was a christmas stamp which I masked out the christmas words and then stamp a birthday verse :-)  thanks for stopping by XO

please drop by my online shop I try and stock a good variety of items that you can't get in an everyday craft store XO Tania

Saturated Canary's Close to my heart

Good evening, thanks for dropping by.  I have a Saturated Canary image that I bought the other night (along with a few other cuties too).  This image is called close to my heart. I have used paper from Kaiser craft pad called true romance. TOP TIP: instead of buying expensive rhinestone buttons, try flattening out some bead caps with pliers and glue on a bevelled base rhinestone (you know the rhinestones that are not flat back... the point sits in the bead cap hole and secures it better)  I buy sew on rhinestones and remove the claw setting which is much cheaper that way!! The pram charm and ribbon slider are from ebay. flowers are WOC.

Copic colours:
BV 0000, 000, 20, 23, 25
E 000, 00, 04, 11, 21, 23, 25, 29, 41
R 00, 11, 20, 59
RV 34
G 99
YG 03, 63, 67

I would like to enter in to the following challenges:
Top Tip Tuesday: Use Kraft card (I matted my base and image with it)
Make it Monday: anything goes
Creative Knockouts: Tic Tac Toe- flowers, bling, ribbon.

some various swing cards

Hi there! This is a quick post, basically because these cards are quick to make.  There is no colouring involved, but the embellishments make the cards exquisite.  I thought I would post them just purely to give you some ideas on different things that you can put on your cards.  I alter a lot of things, like cutting the ring off charms (as seen with the dinosaur in the pebbles near the fence) or the back notch of buttons and the split pins off brads. I hope you can find some ideas here.  By inking the edge of  straight cuts and using some frantage or different coloured embossing powders you can transform a simple card topper with a saying.

Hello!! Lucky last card for tonight.  A baby card :-)  I don't know about everyone else, but when I buy digi's, I cant just buy one from the store I need to spend at least over $5 to make it worth my while LOL!!!! So I got this cutie from Pink Gem Designs with my other baby images (One more to come) This one is called Baby Boy Bundle.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye called Portobello Road "Buddies" and Forever Friends "Kraft Notes".  The new baby sentiment is a clear stamp from unknown set.  The banner die is a My Favorite Things die.  Flowers are WOC.  The feet brads are sooo old and crying to be used (I'm talking 8 years old when my twins were born!!!) and the lace is from my stash.  I have also glued on some dew drops.

I would like to enter into the Creative Inspirations Challenge for a baby card.

Pink Gem Twin Baby card

Hello! I promise you all I have not been neglecting my craft... just my blog :-( Sorry!!! BUT I do have lots of cards that I have done which I aim to put up over the next couple of days. This is for a lady who wanted a twins card for a friend.  I coloured the image in neutral orange and purple as she wasn't sure of the sex of the babies. The image is a Pink Gem Design, called Twin Girls, and I am stoked with how it has come up.  I have been practicing my colouring and even have had a class with the ooober talented Alyce Keegan (Kit and Clowder) at my LSS Arnolds. She also has done You Tube videos of how to colour which are easy to follow.  Papers are from the pad Forever Friends called Kraft Notes.  The little congratulations banner is cut with a Whimsy die and the dotted outside is Whimsy stamp, the wording I think is KaiserCraft.  The flowers are from WOC and the Ribbon, lace and buckle slider are from my stash.

Copic Colours I used were:
B 000, 93, 97, 99
BV 00, 02, 08
R 20, 39, 81, 85
YR 000, 00, 01, 12, 15, 16

Mo Manning's Fairy Kiki

Good afternoon, I have another of Mo's digi images for my card today- this little one is fairy Kiki.  Coloured with copics, and spashed with a good dose of glitter- I think it is adorable. I love this image because it works so well as a boy or girl card.  I have done a seashell theme for this card- I have recycled the shells and silver starfish from wedding table decorations- waste not want not LOL!!!.  I have used some DMC thread for the bow as it is all I have in the wass of twine :0) works well I think though.  The corner die cut is a Susanas Custom art and Card die.  Paper is from a Prima pad called Craftsman..  Some flattened silver bead caps and rhinestones finish it off.

Listed on ebay

I would like to enter into the following challenges:
Fussy and Fancy: Feeling Blue

Gift book for expectant mum

good afternoon! hope you are all keeping well. This is a gift book that I made up for a good friend I work with having her first baby. When I intially thought "how on earth can I do a card big enough for 30 or more well wishes?" I thought a book would be a great idea. there are 6 pages all embellished to the max .... and the best thing is that everything except for the green DP, matching chipboard animals and crochet flowers are from my stash....even the binding wire is what I cut off from my calendars!. The front image is from nitwit collections. I am really happy with how it has come up. The pages are 600gsm board I got from office works and I have bound it with my zutter.
I hope she likes it as much as you enjoy browsing the pages. Thanks for stopping by XOX Tania
I am entering this into the following challenges:

Baby boy card

good morning, I am off to the markets soon to sell my cards, so am making up quick and easy cards.  This baby card looks complicated, but its not really.  I have refined my technique, which I am having uploading the picture of, so will keep trying.  from the pram you basically need two circles of contrasting colours.  this boys one I use my scalloped circles form spellbinders.  For my girls one, I used the spellbinders lacey circles.  the girl carriage is my more refined technique, so I will go through that when I upload the picture.  The beautiful wheel centres are new moonstone brads from wild orchid crafts....thats the bad thing about blogging- you find all these awesome stores on other peoples' blogs and spend WAY too much money LOL!!!! alright- I will attempt to post my pink girl card when I get home from the school run. Thanks for stopping by XOX Tania
