Top Tip Tuesday Guest Designer male card Spitfire Delicious Doodles

Good morning! Thanks for stopping by.  I was lucky to be picked as Top Tipper over at Top Tip Tuesday a few weeks ago, and was asked to be guest designer for their challenge this week.  The challenge is to use metal faux or real! So I have used some metal charms and wait for it... I have a done a male card. I KNOW! shock horror lol!!! I have used "spitfire" from Delicious Doodles, and didnt have to colour it at all- super simple!  The sentiment is a combination using a Popcorn bear sentiment and a Whimsy notables 2 outer frame stamp and cut with the notables 2 die. I used DP from two Prima pads- called "Cartographer"  and "engraver".  Die cuts are using magnolia swirl die, Cheery Lynn Gears die and Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl die.  The charms are from Nini's Things on facebook.

Here's my top tip for the challenge: When distressing edges of your cardstock, ink the edges and distress whilst still wet.  Place the edge of what you are going to distress onto your table leaving about 1cm hanging over the edge of your table. Working from the centre of your cardstock and out to the corner, distress using your distressing tool. This way, your corners stay intact, and your paper will not get creases in it. The slight wetness left by the ink helps it “puff”up.

So now its your turn.... Pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and show us your metal! and while you're there, why not leave a tip to help us all craft a little easier and you could be the next Guest Designer?!

Thanks for stopping by. Stay Safe XOX Tania

my first twist easel card for a father

Good evening thanks for dropping by! Tonight I have done a "father" card. This is my first attempt at a twist easel card and I am stoked at how it turned out. When flat the card measures 10.5 x 14.8. To do this size, cut a piece of cardstock 10.5 x 26.4cm. score at 15cm. on the smaller square, you need to score score it on the diagonal ...... so when you open the card flat with the smaller square on the left hand side, you will score from the top left side to the score line in the bottom right side. Then you just cut a top peice of card stock 10.5 x 14.8cm and glue ONLY the left triangular part.
so onto the card....I have popcorn the bear image coloured with prisma colour pencils, I have used Paper inklings DP "dad", ribbon from Craft Queen, a REALLY old fish embellishment (this was a paper clip, which I cut off), some dew drops inside the card as well as buttons and rhinestones. To top off the image, I have used liquid pearls, glamour dust, dimensional magic and stickles. The sentiment inside is a Hero Arts stamp called "special Gifts- Father". you will notice the sentiment is cut on an angle to allow for the card top to sit twisted nicely.

My top Tip : run the edges of your ribbon high over a candle (dont touch the flame)- no more fraying....for organza ribbon hold it a little higher you only need to hold it for a small amount of time or you risk burning it.....you can do this to the edges of your material flowers too!

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
One Stitch at a time Challenge- 3 or more embellishments
Top Tip Tuesday- anything goes (2nd entry)
Simon Says Stamp: new something (new technique- my first twist easel card)
PaperTake Weekly: anything goes with the option of a new theme

A COUPLE OF FATHERS/DAD CARDS

Good evening, Thanks for stopping by! I was at the newly opened "Bella Paperie"  in Brendale QLD today and saw this gorgeous paper by "paper inklings" called simply "dad".  The first card sentiment is from Hero Arts "special gifts- Father".  I have used a stamp from a stampin up set to do the dot background.  The green ribbon is from Craft Queen Australia.  I'm not usually a green fan, but this ribbon ties in well with the touch of green in the birds on the DT paper.  The inside of this card I used another stamp from hero Arts "hug for you".  The front of the bottom card is a rubon from Kaisercraft "Father". the tree ....well I cut up (destroyed) a papermania stamp so I wouldn't have the snowflakes in the image....called "Winter Floral and Fauna".   I love how this has worked though! The bird I cut out form the paper.  The circle mount is just two spellbinders "Lacey circles" off set with each other. The inside is stamped with a 1994 sampin up stamp "thanks for all you do".  A splashing of stickles and bling, and viola! fathers cards!

THE RAUNCHY "LADY RAVEN"

Good morning....today I have another Kenny K card "Lady Raven".  I am happier with my colouring for this image! These images are a little raunchier than my usual, but I try to step out of my comfort zone every now and then LOL!!!!.  here's the card I ended up with:

Once again I have used flowers from wild orchid crafts.  Ribbon from Craft Queen Australia, some pearl sprays form Spotlight and stickles (surprise surprise!!!). The papers are "little tike" a Michelle Coleman Fancy Pants design, and "Jaunt" paper by Authentique. The card is just blue Bazzil.
Kenny K's "Lucious Linda" coloured with PrismaColor pencils, some dimensional magic on her boots and stickles. Below the sentiment is another from my set of cloud nine "simple thoughts"....I like this set as it has variety with some touching sentiments eg wrinkles indicate where smiles have been, but then we get the more cheeky sentiments too!
I thought I'd try something a little different for the inside....I made an envelope pocket with a pull out card to write your sentiment.  Looking at the pics, I think I might go and round the corners off and ink the edges??? I did an embossed image of  "Linda" in a blue pearl which you can only really see when the light hits it the right way.
SO.....what do you think??? I'd love to hear your comments :0)                              Thanks for stopping by XOX TANIA XOX

KENNY K LUCIOUS LINDA

PHEW!!!I finally got my mojo back! I have (sort of) got some organisation into my craft room...well enough that I can get back into my cards. This is my first attempt for a long time and it took me nearly two days to finish!!!! This is a Kenny K image- my very first attempt at a Kenny K- boy was it hard to colour!! very detailed indead. but apart from a few smudges, I am stoked with how it coloured up! Because I did a black card, I wanted there to be somewhere you could write your message, so I did and envelope inside with a pull out tag. It didn't photograph very well but the bottom of the tag is stamped with flowers and "hugs and kisses" from a studio K set.

So, the image of course is Kenny K "Lucious Linda"....I bought the stamp (plus others) from Quixotic Paperie in the UK- they have wonderful service, and fast, reasonably priced international shipping- oh if I won lotto, I'd buy everthing they have- its an awesome shop!!! the sentiment is from Cloud9 Design "simple thoughts-Laughter". Flowers are of course from wild orchid crafts. the ribbon and charm are OLDDDD - its amazing what you find when you move house LOL!!! the papers are red and black bazzil, Magnolia Ink "vintage christmas" and (I believe) the polka dot paper is a doodlebug design. from my LSS Arnolds scrapbooking. And of course, my ever faithful prisma colour pencils (I like the look of the copics, but unfortunately my bank account doesn't like the look of the price LOL!!!!) and stickles "stardust" glitter

This card qualifies for entry into the Kenny K challenge by using metal embellishments. I originally did this card for their pocket challenge, but it took me so long to do, but! I can enter into this weeks challenge anyway:0) thanks so much for dropping by !!!

PENNY BLACK CARD FOR DAD

Hello! Well it has been some time since I have posted a card- I have been busy doing other stuff...and unfortunately, I have to get back to reality on thursday- that is my holidays are finished and I am back to work YUK! I could handle doing crafts every day :0) anyways, today I have done one for my hubbys birthday coming up in April.  I am going to enter this one in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge themed boys card.  Mojo Monday also has a great sketch which I am entering too. Lastly Simon Says Stamp has a Make your own embellishment challenge...not sure if the pop up in the center could be classed as an embelishment, but hand made flowers and my husband just dont go together LOL!!!! The image is of course Penny Black- "fly away" coloured a while ago just waiting for my inspiration to kick in! "Daddy" is from an inkadinkadoo set "baby girl"...the stamp was originally "Daddy's Little Girl" but I have taped the rest of the stamp- I'll show you how I do that- I'm sure there's an easier way, but this is how I do it :0) "wishes" inside is another stamp I have tapped from Stampin Up "warmest wishes". I have used martha stewart embossed zig zag edge punch. Hope you like it! Thanks for dropping by xox Tania xox

POP UP SENTIMENT CARDS popcorn the bear

image is from crafters companion POPCORN THE BEAR

These pop up sentiments are hand cut from computer generated words. They can be quiet tricky, but once you do your first one you can do any word! the top and bottom of the letters remain attached to the insert and the words pop up. very cost effective, but a lovely effect all the same :0)
